Chapter 43: One Last Song Of Revelations

Adjudicator Temerik Shrue is a Legislature for the Peninsulan government. They represent the North-Western Territory. It is suggested that they won their position in a landslide victory during their previous campaign.

Background

The Peninsulan Territory that Shrue represents, the North-Western, is where they were raised.

Career

They hire Mercer and Gage to get rid of The Parish of Tide and Flesh as a part of their re-election campaign, following the events at Bellwethers and Marcel's Crossing.

Ana and Jeff, who worked as Shrue's primary re-election campaign staff, are killed during an attack by Love-Saints from the Linger Straits. During their re-election campaign they are staunchly anti-war until this moment.

Shrue is cornered by Mason, who makes them a proposition to legalise the Trawler-man's faith and call off their attack on the Paraclete's Gulch.

During the war, Shrue joins CenSec and begins the legalisation process of the Parish of Tide and Flesh. They conflict with the other Legislator's, namely Adjudicator Cross and Press Secretary Carson.

They are invited to a summit on how to deal with rising anti-sacrificial sentiment in the Peninsula. There Melissa Dalton and Julius Brand are killed, and Shrue and Cross narrowly escape with their lives. Shrue agrees to become a celebrity endorser of Tranquili-Tea Seven. Shrue assaults Carson.

Shrue begins drinking with Cross at a bar every night. At this bar, they are approached by Carpenter and Hayward.

At the floating market the next day, Shrue meets Hayward and Carpenter again and they discuss their plan. Shrue tells them that they want to use their speech on the radio the following day to turn the citizens of the Peninsula's attention towards their movement, and that they want to bring Cross with them.

Shrue is killed at the Greater Glottage Radio Station by Brother Philly, an assassin sent by Sibling Rane, whilst spreading the word of the Many Below.

Chapter 21: We'd Both Go Plunging Downwards	Shrue discusses their re-election campaign with their staff. They meet with Mercer and Gage, encouraging them to finish the job quickly and without causing further problems. They are attacked by Love-Saints and two members of their staff, Jeff and Ana are killed.
Chapter 28: To Drift On, To Dream, To Die	Shrue gives Mercer and Gage the order to attack the Gulch. They order them to do it quickly. They are cornered by Mason who gives them the proposal of partnering with the Parish of Tide and Flesh, or being killed by him.
Chapter 29: And Where My Final Footsteps Fall	Shrue calls off the attack on the Gulch.
Chapter 31: Its Gaze Shall Fall O'er Trembling Plains	Shrue records a press-release for their partnership with the Parish. They go to their first security council where they are cornered by Press Secretary Carson.
Chapter 32: Its Wrath Shall Scald The Sun	Shrue is heard defending the Children of the Woundtree on the radio.
Chapter 39: This Rotten World Shall Wheeze Its Last	Shrue is almost killed by the Mirror-Angel at a Summit by Carson. They agree to endorse Tranquili-Tea Seven to escape with their life. They assault Carson before they leave. Afterwards, they phone their family and tell them that their breaking point was them. They swear to get revenge because of it.
Chapter 40: This Hateful Hymn Shall Cease	Shrue and Cross drink at a bar, a routine they have established. They are approached by Hayward and Carpenter.
Chapter 42: I’ll Wheeze Through Splintered Teeth	Shrue decides to leave with Hayward and Carpenter, but first they want to use their platform to give a speech to the citizens of the Peninsula. It's a risk that they have to take.
Chapter 43: One Last Song Of Revelations	Shrue goes on the radio live at Greater Glottage Radio and spreads the word of the Many Below. Shrue is killed by Brother Philly on Rane's orders.

Trivia

• Shrue supposedly has a partner and kids, who have been relocated to the south of the Peninsula. It is never confirmed whether they are real or not after Carson implies that they were fabricated.

• In total, there are three attempts against Shrue's life during their career.

• Shrue's last words are "Kill your gods!"

• Shrue is the only non-main character to appear in more than 10 episodes, appearing in 11 out of 46 episodes total.
